Another short post this week as I’m still away on holidays with my family. I’m absolutely loving my time in Vietnam and a highlight has been enjoying the delicious fresh produce and trying out local dishes. It really is a foodie’s paradise!
I took a cooking class with my family which was fantastic and I’ll be returning to Jane Plan HQ bursting with new foodie ideas and inspiration for new meals! The range of fresh fruit and vegetables that are at arms length as you pass through bustling markets and street stalls is truly amazing. It’s so important to eat lots of fruit and vegetables and research suggests that people who follow a plant strong diet plan have a lower incidence of certain diseases, including heart disease and cancer.
Yes, it’s easier on holidays or in hot, summer weather but I’m really an advocate of making sure to have your ‘5 a Day’ (80g portions of fruit and veggies). I’ll be sharing lots of cooking tips, recipes and ideas when I’m back so stay tuned.
Have you been to a country that really left an imprint on you? Share with me, I’d love to hear about it!
Have a fabulous weekend and I hope that the sun shines so you can enjoy picnics, BBQs and the great British outdoors!
I’m so happy to say that this week my post is very short as I’m on holidays and having a much needed break! I’ve arrived in Ho Chi Minch city Vietnam with my family and we are having a fabulous time so far exploring and taking in the sights!
Next week, I’ll be sure to post some pictures of the beautiful markets, street food stalls, stunning scenery and vibrant colours of this country. I hope you all have a lovely weekend and are any of you planning far-flung trips or a much needed stay-cation? Let me know and as always, post any diet or nutrition questions – I’d love to help!
I’m so delighted to tell you that we’ve raised £605 for BCC since last Sunday and that’s due to incredibly generous donations from Sozo Design, ABG, Holmesterne Foods, Chase Media, Pro-Pak foods, Stockans Oatcakes and the many donations from friends and families of our walking team. A massive THANK YOU to all of you!!!
Our team of walkers who completed the 20 mile London at Night Pink Ribbonwalk was made up of ladies from the office, Jane Plan client Caroline Geraerts of StarTurn Entertainment and her friend Signet Rigby. Wow did those ladies make the walk seem easy! Well done ladies pounding those pavements for such a great cause.
The walk might have finished but we’re continuing on our fundraising efforts for Breast Cancer Care. To tie in with National Bikini Day, which took place last week, we took some bikini selfies too (no airbrushing or fake tan here) and we’d love you to join our efforts!
Another exciting event this week was the Yours Magazine event in Nottingham. I was the guest speaker and was lucky enough to meet 250 ladies who wanted to hear all about Jane Plan and how to eat healthily and make better diet decisions! My favourite part of the event was the Q&A session when I got to chat through diet conundrums, nutrition and weight loss issues and how it can be harder to lose weight as we get older. It was a really great event and hopefully I’ll be working with some of the ladies who heard about Jane Plan!
We were also in the press again in the last week in the Guardian supplement Obese Britain and I contributed articles on how to cope with type 2 diabetes in relation to your diet and I gave some of my top tips for understanding what counts as your 5 a day.
I was also so happy to see one of our long-standing clients, Paula Walker, grace the pages of Woman magazine in her bikini!! Paula looks totally stunning as you’ll see in the picture. She’s wearing a bikini for the first time in her 40s having lost 3 stone on Jane Plan – just look at that body confidence!
I’m travelling back from a meeting in Yorkshire as I write this post so I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend, most definitely spent in the sunshine!
If you have any diet queries or particular nutrition questions, do get in touch. I’d love to hear from you.
On Saturday evening Jane Plan walkers are taking part in the London at Night Pink Ribbonwalk in aid of breast cancer care! We’ll be pounding the pavements along a 20 mile route, and what’s more the walk only kicks off at 10:00pm…wow that’s 5 to 8 hours walking and we’re so excited to be a part of this great cause to raise money!
We’ve had lots of extremely generous donations already but we need more help to reach our target of £500! Visit our Just Giving page here to donate to this wonderful cause. We’ll make sure to get posting pictures of Team Jane Plan over the next few days!
It will be a bit of a weekend of flying around because I’m also off to Nottingham on Sunday morning as a celebrity speaker at the Yours magazine summer event. I’ll get to meet lots their lovely readers! I’ll be chatting about healthy eating tips and I’ll be sharing some of my skinny secrets on how to lose weight in a healthy and sustainable way.
This is a short post this week as it’s busy busy here at Jane Plan but I’m hoping that you get out and enjoy this summer heatwave this weekend and have fun if you’re planning picnics, BBQs or trips to the beach – and catching up with Wimbledon for any tennis fans out there!
Oh – by the way it’s National Bikini Day on Sunday too if you didn’t already know! We’re continuing on our fundraising for breast cancer care so will be getting out in our favourite swimwear and posting pictures on social media! Why not join us and if you post a picture using @JanePlanUK #NationalBikiniDay #Bodyconfidence on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram – Jane Plan will donate £5 to breast cancer care – you’ll see our thanks on our Just Giving page!
